About Me
Hi, I’m Darkavia! I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and now live in Los Angeles California where I’m fully pursuing my career as a model and actress. My love for performing started early—growing up in a big family of ten, with a mother and siblings in modeling, I was constantly surrounded by the excitement of the industry. Traveling with them for shoots made me fall in love not only with fashion but with the energy of being on set.
Determined to carve out my own path, I began my journey at Barbizon, where I trained in runway, posing, and on-camera presence. From there, I quickly discovered that performing was more than just something I enjoyed—it was something I needed to pursue seriously. Being one of the youngest in my family, I naturally loved standing out, but I also learned how to stay disciplined, adaptable, and professional in any environment.
As my confidence grew, so did my passion for acting. In middle and high school, I dove into theater and fell in love with live performance. I had the opportunity to play roles in productions like Annie, The Addams Family, and Romeo & Juliet, and many more with each show I discovered a deeper connection to storytelling. Beyond the stage, I studied film and television intensely watching performances, breaking down scenes, and studying behind-the-scenes footage to understand the craft from every angle.
Since moving to Los Angeles, I’ve continued to train extensively, including on going classes at LA Acting Studios where I studied scene work, on-camera technique, improv, and the technical side of working on set. I would say I've gained valuable experience as a background actor in major productions such as 9-1-1: Lonestar, Grey’s Anatomy, Never Have I Ever, Grown-ish, and more. These opportunities have not only allowed me to work alongside incredible talent but have also given me firsthand insight into how professional sets operate.
Beyond modeling and acting, I’m deeply committed to maintaining my physical and mental well-being. I’ve developed a strong passion for fitness and nutrition, and I love to cook balanced, healthy meals that keep me energized for long days doing what I love the most
I’ve also worked with photographers, stylists, and creative directors across Los Angeles, collaborating on projects that range from editorial shoots to digital campaigns. Each experience has taught me how to adapt to different creative visions while bringing my own energy and professionalism to the table.
For me, this career is more than a dream—it’s a mission. I’ve invested years into training, gaining experience, and shaping myself into someone who is ready for leading roles. With every class I take, every set I work on, and every project I contribute to, I grow not only as a performer but as an artist.
